The Forward seeks a talented journalist to join its fellowship program aimed at diversifying the pipeline in Jewish media. Year-long, full-time newsroom roles supported by the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, with professional development and mentoring. Applicants should specify preferred area(s): reporting/writing news or culture; multimedia storytelling; working with the editor-in-chief on strategic projects; audience engagement, analytics, social media; commissioning/editing/creating opinion; data reporting/visualization. Fellows will work alongside staff, lead at least one major project, participate in meetings and development programs, and receive individual coaching.Qualifications: curiosity about diverse Jewish communities; experience in media/nonprofits; strong communication/analytical skills; entrepreneurial, team-oriented; multimedia/data/social fluency a plus. Tri-State fellows expected in-person at Lower Manhattan office twice a week; remote candidates elsewhere welcome. Compensation: $46,000 annually with generous benefits and PTO; News Guild position.
