About Camp Hadar
Camp Hadar is a co-ed Jewish day camp for children ages 5-15 located on 17 acres of scenic woods and sandy beach
in Salem, New Hampshire. Our goal is to provide all campers with a fun, safe, and rewarding camping experience
with an emphasis placed on personal growth, friendship, and fun. We have proudly served families living in
Massachusetts and New Hampshire for over 60 years.
Position Summary
The Waterfront Director manages all aquatics programming at Camp Hadar, including swimming, boating, and
waterfront safety. This role supervises lifeguards, ensures compliance with Red Cross and state safety standards,
and creates a safe and fun environment for campers to engage in water activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Aquatics Programming
--Plan and supervise daily aquatics activities, ensuring age-appropriate instruction.
--Deliver swim tests, lessons, and boating programming.
Staff Supervision
--Supervise and evaluate lifeguards and waterfront staff.
--Conduct daily safety checks of the waterfront area, equipment, and facilities.
Safety & Compliance
--Ensure compliance with Red Cross, ACA, and state safety guidelines.
--Maintain equipment and report needed repairs.
Qualifications
--Minimum 21 years old with 2–4 years aquatics supervisory experience.
--American Red Cross Lifeguard, WSI, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
--Strong supervisory and safety management skills.
