The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of Greater Boston is a coalition of organizations and leaders that advances the values, interests, and priorities of the organized Jewish community across Greater Boston. Through our network, programs, and partnerships, we:

The Opportunity
JCRC is seeking a Director of Community Relations to lead our Jewish community engagement strategy through our Council of member agencies that is a catalyst for relationship-building, coordination, and collective civic action across the Greater Boston Jewish ecosystem.
In the new role, this leader will clarify and elevate the purpose of the Council and translate that vision into an actionable engagement strategy—ensuring Council members understand how they can make an impact, how to participate meaningfully, and how their leadership advances JCRC’s broader community relations, advocacy, and public affairs goals.

About the Council
The Council convenes and connects member organizations and at-large leaders from across Greater Boston’s Jewish community. It strengthens relationships and communication across institutions, builds cohesion and collaboration across diverse segments of Jewish life, and serves as a dynamic, multi-faceted body that helps JCRC represent a wide range of voices in the organized Jewish community.
What You’ll Do
Lead JCRC’s Council Engagement Strategy
Develop an engagement plan that supports deeper participation over time, including clear roles, pathways, and expectations for Council members.
Track member relationships and engagement to ensure follow-through, continuity, and measurable progress.
Activate Relationships and Strengthen Community Coordination
Serve as a connector across organizations and leaders—building trust, strengthen relationships, and expand opportunities for collaboration.
Partner with JCRC leadership and program staff to align Council activity with organizational priorities and real-time community needs.
Design and execute engagement pathways that connect organizational leaders and volunteers to the right JCRC opportunities over time—coordinating stewardship and follow-through to deepen involvement, strengthen relationships, and build a stronger leadership pipeline.
Support meaningful communication and coordination among Council members, especially at moments requiring shared civic response, mobilization, or unified strategy.
Communications and Visibility
Execute a communications strategy that highlights the Council’s value and impact and elevates the Council as a key tool for JCRC brand awareness and community leadership. Equip Council members with the tools to translate JCRC’s work into clear, compelling messages they can share as ambassadors.
Signature Convenings
Plan and execute high-quality Council meetings and convenings that build engagement, strengthen relationships, and move people from dialogue to action.
Lead the annual meeting (June) that confirms leadership and celebrates impact and accomplishments.
What We’re Looking For
Experience managing complex relationships across organizations and individuals, including tracking engagement, setting clear expectations, and driving follow-through.
Deep familiarity with Jewish communal life and institutions, including the diversity of Jewish identities and experiences, Israel, antisemitism, and the realities of Jewish community dynamics.
Strong relationship-builder with excellent judgment, follow-through, and a proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
Exceptional communication skills, including facilitation, and public speaking.
A strategic, organized leader who can hold both the big picture and the details—moving from vision to execution with clarity and consistency.
Commitment to JCRC’s mission and to strengthening Jewish civic participation, communal cohesion, and a more secure and inclusive society.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $85,000-$95,000, commensurate with experience.
