Ohel is seeking an energetic, motivated, Yiddish-speaking individual to provide one-on-one Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (PRS) to individuals in the Yiddish-speaking community who are experiencing behavioral and/or mental health challenges. Working under the direction of Ohel's clinical team, the PSR worker will provide community-based, skills-focused support designed to help clients improve functioning and achieve individualized treatment goals. Responsibilities include helping clients develop emotional regulation and coping skills, social and interpersonal skills, behavioral skills, independent living and adaptive functioning, and greater engagement in home, school, work, and community settings. The Mental Health Worker will collaborate with Ohel clinicians, family members and other members of the client's support system. Services are generally provided one-on-one in the client's home or community and typically take place 1–2 times per week.
Requirements:
- Candidates must have a high school diploma with at least two years of relevant experience working with individuals with behavioral health needs
- Fluency in Yiddish and familiarity with the cultural needs of the Yiddish-speaking community are required
- Possess strong interpersonal and engagement skills and the ability to motivate, support, and build positive relationships with clients
- Complete timely and accurate session documentation in English
Ohel will provide training and ongoing support in PSR service delivery, clinical and professional boundaries, documentation requirements, Ohel systems, and functional assessment and treatment-planning tools. This is a part time position based in Brookyln with afternoon and/or evening available.
Salary: $50.00 per hour
