Ohel is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced, and collaborative Insurance Eligibility and Medical Billing Assistant to join our Fiscal Department. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the revenue cycle by verifying insurance eligibility, minimizing claim denials, facilitating timely reimbursements, and helping maintain the financial integrity of our programs through accurate documentation and effective collaboration with billing staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits through payer portals prior to services, including both in-person and telehealth appointments, updating insurance information in the electronic health record (EHR) as needed
  • Accurately document insurance coverage and support billing through timely data collection and reporting
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, payers, and internal departments to resolve claim denials, reimbursement issues, and payer discrepancies
  • Obtain or assist with pre-authorizations and prior authorizations when required
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards

Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of experience in insurance eligibility verification, medical billing, or healthcare revenue cycle operations required
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, colleagues, and external providers
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel

Salary: $50,000- 55,000
