POSITION SUMMARY:

The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati seeks an energetic, entrepreneurial, and relationship-driven professional to expand JCRC's presence and partnerships throughout Greater Cincinnati.
The JCRC Officer will serve as an outward-facing member of the JCRC team with three primary areas of responsibility: external relationship stewardship, Israel engagement, and education.
Reporting to the Associate Director, the JCRC Officer will maintain and grow a portfolio of external relationships; lead community engagement connected to JCRC's Israel initiatives, including programming with our Shlicha and Chaverim; and support the development and delivery of educational programs and resources related to Israel, antisemitism, and other JCRC priority areas.
The ideal candidate is a natural relationship-builder who enjoys meeting new people, opening doors, and building trust across communities. This position requires initiative, curiosity, strong communication skills, cultural competency, and the judgment necessary to represent the Jewish community thoughtfully in diverse settings.
Key Responsibilities
  • Israel Engagement
  • Serve as the JCRC team's lead professional for designated Israel engagement initiatives, working under the strategic direction of the Director and Associate Director.
  • Coordinate community-facing programming and engagement involving JCRC's Shlicha and Chaverim, helping ensure their work reaches diverse audiences throughout Greater Cincinnati.
  • Identify and cultivate new audiences and institutional partners for Israel-related education, programming, and engagement.
  • Support recruitment, audience development, and relationship stewardship for IsraelLENS and other Israel engagement opportunities.
  • Develop opportunities to bring Israel-related programming into civic, educational, interfaith, business, and community settings.
  • Help convert participation in Israel programming into sustained relationships with JCRC and the broader Jewish community.
Education
  • Support the development and delivery of JCRC educational programming related to Israel, antisemitism, Jewish community relations, and other designated priority areas.
  • Research, create, curate, and maintain educational materials and resources for use in JCRC programs, presentations, trainings, and community engagement.
  • Adapt materials for different audiences and settings, including schools, civic organizations, businesses, community institutions, and interfaith partners.
  • Support JCRC staff in preparing educational presentations, background materials, talking points, and resources for community programs and external engagement.
  • Work with educators, schools, and educational institutions to identify opportunities for JCRC educational programming and resources.
  • Help identify emerging educational needs among JCRC partners and recommend appropriate programs, materials, or resources.
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of JCRC's educational offerings to ensure they are accessible, substantive, and responsive to community needs.
External Relationship Stewardship
  • Maintain and steward a defined portfolio of community relationships in coordination with the Associate Director and appropriate JCRC portfolio leads.
  • Conduct consistent stakeholder meetings, proactive outreach, and relationship follow-up designed to deepen JCRC's engagement across Greater Cincinnati.
  • Identify and cultivate new relationships with individuals, organizations, and institutions that can strengthen JCRC's community presence and partnerships.
  • Assist representing JCRC at designated stakeholder meetings, civic forums, community gatherings, and programs.
  • Identify opportunities for partnership, collaboration, education, and sustained engagement with external partners.
  • Connect external stakeholders with appropriate JCRC programs, resources, expertise, and opportunities for involvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of external meetings, contacts, follow-up activities, and relationship development.
Team & Organizational Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the JCRC team and Federation colleagues to advance the responsibilities of the position and broader departmental priorities.
  • Support major JCRC programs and events when they intersect with the Officer's external relationships, Israel engagement, or educational responsibilities.
  • Participate in relevant JCRC programs, community events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the scope of the position and JCRC's mission as assigned by the Associate Director or Director.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in community relations, external affairs, education, nonprofit work, business development, public affairs, organizing, stakeholder engagement, or a related field.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships across different communities, institutions, and perspectives.
  • Ability to navigate sensitive or complex issues with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple relationships, follow-ups, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable initiating relationships and conducting proactive outreach.
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community, Israel, antisemitism, and contemporary community-relations issues. A willingness and ability to develop substantive knowledge in these areas is essential.
  • Ability to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings, programs, and community events.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
