About the Position:
Habonim Dror Camp Moshava is seeking a seasonal mental health director. This person will be a critical member of our camper care team. Our mental health director will provide direct clinical services, resources, and training to campers and staff. Additionally, they will empower and mentor our youth staff in their roles as counselors and leaders of the community.
About Habonim Dror Camp Moshava:
Camp Moshava or “Mosh” is an overnight summer camp dedicated to social justice, inclusion, and youth empowerment. Our mental health professional will join a small, loving, and tight-knit community that prides itself on relationship-building, acceptance, and personal growth. We are located north of Baltimore, Maryland with around 60 summer staff who serve approximately 170 campers ages 8-17.
Pre-Season:
· April 15 – June 15, 2025 – approx. 8 hours/week spent onboarding, training staff, conducting intakes with campers and families, planning for summer, and attending Foundation for Jewish Camp’s Community of Practice. $35/hour.
Summer 2025: Full time, residential, on-site from June 15-August 11, 2025. $1,300-$1,400 weekly, depending on experience. Flexible daily schedule, one 24-hour period off weekly.

Mental Health Professional Responsibilities
· Help create a positive camp environment for all campers and staff by promoting proactive wellness by supporting camper and staff mental health and wellbeing.
· Provide assessment and direct intervention in cases of mental health and/or behavioral crises in collaboration with camper care coordinators and Executive Director.
· Work with camper care coordinators to design modifications to programs and activities to be inclusive of all campers, including those with anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and more.
· Respond to parent concerns related to campers with mental health and/or behavioral issues.
· Participate in meetings with camp leadership to ensure that camper and staff wellbeing are central to the operation of camp.
· Provide training and support to counselors regarding their campers’ mental health and wellbeing
· Maintain required documentation for camper meetings, team meetings and parent calls.
- Prepare reports to funding agencies in relationship to mental emotional and social health at camp, including sharing high-level understandings of interactions and interventions taking place throughout the summer.
- Participate in Foundation for Jewish Camp’s Community of Practice as part of our camp’s participation in the Yedid Nefesh program, including two or three virtual gatherings and one in-person gathering per year with other Jewish camp mental health professionals.
