Principal Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of administrative and day-to-day operations for after-school programs, including but not limited to:
- Maintaining the database and ensuring that all required registration, health, and program paperwork is completed and up-to-date for all participants
- Creating and updating rosters for bussing, homeroom, activity periods, and late care
- Creating a monthly newsletter showcasing program highlights and important dates
- Ensuring the safety of all afterschool participants
- Supervising all after-school program staff
- Managing data tracking systems for enrollment and daily attendance
- Coordinating communication of absences, special programming, and other updates with families
- Monitoring and maintaining all program inventory, and placing supply orders when needed
- Managing data collection and reporting for the CACFP grant
- Overseeing the purchase of snacks and the creation of the weekly snack menu
- Conducting all dismissal procedures daily
- Ensure the program is in compliance with DOH SACC requirements and guidelines
- Manage program staff hiring and any staff changes, such as position transfers and salary updates, as needed to ensure program success
- Oversee lesson planning for group leader-led activities and support the activity specialist in curriculum development
- Integrate the Y's universal Jewish values and its connection to Israel in all programs where appropriate
- Plan and implement monthly staff professional development, along with regular staff meetings and coaching sessions
- Organize and execute special events, including activity planning, material ordering, facilities management, and scheduling
- Assist in planning and implementation of Fall and Spring Showcases
- Implement Program Quality Assessments
- Maintain room cleanliness after use for after-school programs
- Supervise campers as necessary for Camp Twelve Trails
- Supervise camp staff as necessary for Camp Twelve Trails
- Communicate with camper parents and guardians for Camp Twelve Trails when necessary
- Assist the camp director with any other duties as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
SALARY
- $70,000-$80,000
Minimum Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
- At least three years of director experience required
- Must have excellent time management skills, be flexible, be a team player, be open to feedback, be creative, and have excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy, including experience with Google Workspace applications
- Willing to work some evenings and Sundays as needed
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- Full-time, in-person, FLSA Exempt position.
- September-June: Monday-Friday 10:00-6:30, with some Sundays or Saturdays as needed
- July and August: Monday-Friday 8:00- 5:30 onsite at Camp Twelve Trails; additional hours may be required during the summer season
WORK AUTHORIZATION & CLEARANCE
- Documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Must pass the background check, medical tests, fingerprinting through the Department of Health, and other pre-employment requirements.
Salary:
$65,000 - $75,000
