Principal Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Accounting Department.The Financial Analyst will be responsible for all General Accounting Functions for multiple state, city funded programs and various foundations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for streamlining and following through on the end-to-end grants management process to include invoicing, collections, budgeting and reporting
  • Invoice according to each agency's guidelines
  • Maintain contract documents
  • Address funder inquires and follow through in a timely manner
  • Work with funders to solve issues with reimbursement claims to ensure timely payment
  • Coordinate monthly meetings with Program Directors to review budget vs actual and action planning including budget modifications
  • Provide detailed analysis of budget vs. actual to manage and communicate over/underspending on grants and foundations funds
  • Compile data for budget preparation in accordance with each agency's fiscal manual
  • Monitor spending per budgets and reimbursement guidelines
  • Record monthly and periodic journal entries in GL to ensure proper revenue recognition
  • Manage the Cash Flow report monthly partnering with other Finance team members
  • Assist in year-end Audit, Budget and quarterly financial reviews
  • Prepare reports and track data as scheduled and upon request

Status:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $60,000 - $65,000 Per Year

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred
  • Government billing experience preferred
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities
  • Experience with accounting software is a plus

Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000
