Position Summary

The Wise Teens Coordinator works closely with Rabbi Anna Burke and the Teen Advisory Council

to design and implement meaningful programs for teens in grades 7–12, supporting their continued

connection to Wise Temple, Shelanu, and the broader Jewish teen community after B’nai Mitzvah.

This role focuses on building strong relationships with teens as they grow into young Jewish

leaders, with the coordinator serving as a teacher, mentor, and guide. It’s a meaningful opportunity

for someone who loves working with teens and wants to be part of a warm, supportive community

of engaged high school students, parents, and professional staff, while gaining hands on leadership

and programming experience with the support of Rabbi Burke and a collaborative Temple team.

Hours

Expected 8-12 hours/week during the school year (August-May), working 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM on

Sundays with additional hours needed for preparation and 2-4 programs/educational sessions each

month.

Responsibilities

  • Share love for Jewish life while serving as an appropriate role model
  • Chaperone all teen programs and teach in the Kehillah Jr. High program
  • Meet with and mentor the Teen Advisory Council (TAC) help them plan, implement, & promote events & activities
  • Assist Rabbi Burke and the Teen Advisory Council in planning, organizing, publicizing, and executing a diverse range of fun social programs, as well as opportunities for social action and religious & cultural experiences
  • Take responsibility for scheduling/reserving venue space for programs and events
  • Recruit for, arrange transportation for, and chaperone relevant NFTY events for 7-12 graders
  • Use texting platform and email to communicate with teens and parents

Qualifications

Required

  • Candidates must be 21 years of age or older to be considered

Preferred

  • Strong Jewish background with a demonstrated commitment to Jewish life, which may include camping, youth groups, college engagement, synagogue engagement, or educational trips to Israel
  • Experience working with tweens and teens in formal or informal settings
  • Ability to serve as a Jewish role model
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team of professionals and volunteer

Salary

$12,000/school year
