Position Summary
The Membership & Program Coordinator is a relationship-driven role focused on welcoming new members, fostering meaningful connections, and supporting the growth of the Wise Temple community. This position combines outreach, program development, and informed strategy to engage prospective and current members, with a particular focus on family-centered experiences. Working closely with staff and lay leaders, the Coordinator helps create vibrant entry points into Jewish life while strengthening connection, participation, and belonging across the congregation.
Hours
Full-time role that includes some hours outside standard business times, including evenings and weekends, to support programming and special events.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a welcoming ambassador for Wise Temple, building meaningful relationships and helping integrate new members and families into the community
- Collaborate with colleagues and lay leaders to create programs and foster personal connections that engage prospective and new members
- Maintain and analyze membership data to help communicate the story and growth of the congregation to leadership and the broader community
- Actively recruit prospective members through one-on-one outreach and relationship-building
- Develop and lead engaging family programs centered on key Jewish themes and holidays, with a focus on families with elementary-aged children
- Develop and manage budgets within assigned areas of responsibility
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong Jewish background with a demonstrated commitment to Jewish life and community engagement
- Outgoing, relationship-oriented individual who enjoys connecting with people of all ages and backgrounds
- Proven experience developing and managing creative, engaging programs
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Self-starter with the ability to independently manage responsibilities while collaborating effectively with staff and volunteers
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general office technology; willingness to learn additional tools such as Salesforce and Airtable
Salary
$60,000 - $70,000, commensurate with experience.
