WJCS is seeking an Education Skills Building Coach for the Workforce Pathways & Benefit Stability Initiative Program (WPBSI). In this role, you will support individuals receiving public benefits by providing workforce readiness coaching, digital literacy training, educational support, and individualized guidance to help participants achieve employment and career goals while maintaining benefit stability.
The salary range for this full-time position is $50,000.
Responsibilities:
As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide job readiness training and career coaching, including workshops on interviewing, workplace expectations, communication, and professional conduct.
- Deliver digital literacy instruction, including computer basics, internet navigation, email communication, and use of workforce-related technology platforms.
- Assist participants with resume development, cover letters, online job applications, and employment searches.
- Conduct participant assessments to identify skills, interests, and career goals.
- Develop individualized coaching and service plans that support participants’ employment and educational objectives.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and support to help participants overcome barriers to employment.
- Promote program services and engage potential participants through outreach and informational sessions.
- Support the planning and execution of workshops, training sessions, and community events.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for program improvement based on participant interactions and outcomes.
- Maintain a professional and supportive environment that encourages participant growth and development.
- Track participant progress, employment readiness, and work requirement compliance documentation
- Support clients in understanding and meeting SNAP and Medicaid work-related requirements track monthly hours and reporting to public assistance monitoring programs
- Maintain accurate case notes, data tracking, and reporting requirements in accordance with program standards.
- Participate in team meetings and community partnership collaborations
Requirements:
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work psychology or related field
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Minimum 2 years of experience in workforce development, career coaching, case management, employment services, or related social service settings
- Experience working with individuals receiving SNAP and Medicaid benefits preferred.
- Knowledge of workforce systems, employment resources, and barriers impacting low-income populations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations using trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple participant caseloads.
- Familiarity with community resources and referral networks.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to satellite sites, community events, and presentations.
- Ability to work some evening hours, as needed.
