Overview:

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS), a nonprofit founded in 1943, has grown to be the largest provider of licensed outpatient community mental health services and one of the largest human service agencies in Westchester County. We provide state-of-the-art programs and services and compassionate care to more than 20,000 people of all ages and backgrounds each year.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Finance Assistant to join our team at our White Plains headquarters. Reporting to the Finance Coordinator, this role is ideal for individuals with a foundational knowledge of finance or accounting who want hands-on experience in a dynamic nonprofit environment.

This is a 14 hour/week on site position, and the pay is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Sort, distribute and/or scan department mail
  • Help maintain digital and onsite files and records
  • Provide support for transaction processing in financial systems (Intacct/BILL)
  • Assist with the coordination and processing of various types of financial documents (e.g. vendor invoices, banking forms, contracts and other)
  • Perform other administrative and financial duties as assigned

Requirements:

We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Strong interest in and working knowledge of Finance and Accounting principles
  • Basic understanding of Finance department functions
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
