Staff Accountant

Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant assists in the financial management of the agency by performing various accounting tasks under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer. They are responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting activities. They are also responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative support to other agency program areas as determined necessary by the CFO.
- Liaison between the agency and vendors.
- Responsible for applying payments to appropriate department/program budget
- Responsible for entering funds into accounting system
- Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of coding to make sure funds are properly allocated to each programs/grants.
- Responsible for entering payments from clients and insurance int accounting system.
- Work with CFO on all audit preparation.
- Responsible for preparation of bimonthly payments to vendors, as well as emergency payments that must go out off cycle.
- Generate and track invoicing as needed.
- Financial data entry, including journal entries.
- Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Qualifications:
- Two (2) + years of experience in a business environment
- Accounting of Business Bachelor’s degree, preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, required
- Excellent written and verbal communication
