The WRJ Advancement Associate helps strengthen Women of Reform Judaism’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts through effective campaigns, donor stewardship, communications, and development operations. Working closely with WRJ professional staff and lay leadership, the Advancement Associate helps cultivate a strong donor community while ensuring the systems and processes behind WRJ’s fundraising efforts are accurate, organized, and effective. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys both relationship-building and detail-oriented work and is motivated by WRJ’s mission.

What You Will Do

Support Fundraising Campaigns and Donor Engagement

  • Support the planning and execution of WRJ’s annual fundraising campaigns and initiatives, including the YES Fund.

  • Coordinate campaign timelines, materials, communications, and other fundraising activities.

  • Support relationships with current and prospective donors through personalized outreach, stewardship, acknowledgments, and recognition.

  • Track campaign progress and donor engagement to help identify opportunities to strengthen participation and giving.

  • Partner with staff and lay leaders to support donor outreach, fundraising priorities, and special initiatives.

Manage Donor Data and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate donor and prospect records, including gifts, pledges, and engagement activity, in WRJ’s donor database.

  • Generate reports and analyze fundraising data to monitor progress, identify trends, and inform development efforts.

  • Provide staff and lay leaders with donor information and reporting to support fundraising and stewardship.

Support Development Operations

  • Prepare and coordinate timelines, materials, communications, and other fundraising activities.

  • Coordinate gift and pledge tracking, financial reconciliation, and documentation for audit preparation.

  • Maintain development systems, calendars, records, and workflows, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and the donor experience.

  • Collaborate on projects that advance WRJ’s fundraising and organizational priorities.

  • Participate in WRJ and Reform Movement events and convenings, including occasional travel as needed.

Experience

  • 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, nonprofit operations, communications, data management, or a related area.

  • Experience with a CRM or donor database is preferred.

  • Experience in a nonprofit, membership, volunteer-led, or Jewish communal organization is helpful but not required.

  • Familiarity with Reform Judaism and the broader Jewish community is a plus.
