The Director, Enterprise Applications leads strategy, delivery, and ongoing optimization of the organization’s enterprise application portfolio within the Technology and Digital Solutions Division (TDS). This portfolio includes key platforms supporting our core fundraising and grantmaking processes as well as support for critical internal areas including Accounting & Finance and People & Culture (HR). UJA’s key platforms include Salesforce, NetSuite, UKG, and related systems. The role manages a team of business analysts and project managers while serving as a senior, hands-on analyst for complex, high-impact initiatives. The director partners with business leadership to deliver scalable, efficient solutions that support operational and strategic priorities.

Major Responsibilities:

Measures of Success

  • An Applications roadmap is delivered with clear prioritization, transparent governance, and strong alignment to business outcomes.
  • Core platforms (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite, UKG) are stable, well-adopted, and continuously improved based on user feedback and performance data.
  • High-quality requirements and solution designs reduce rework and improve delivery predictability.
  • Stakeholders receive proactive communication on priorities, risks, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Team members are supported through coaching, standards, and clear expectations, improving consistency, and throughput.

Application Strategy & Governance

  • Define and execute TDS’s roadmap, with emphasis on core SaaS platforms and other key business systems.
  • Own application portfolio governance, including intake, prioritization, release planning, and vendor partnership oversight.
  • Align technology solutions with business priorities, driving process improvement, automation, and system scalability.
  • Establish governance, standards, and best practices across applications and delivery processes.

Senior Business Analysis (Hands-On)

  • Lead discovery sessions and translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, and process flows.
  • Act as lead analyst on complex initiatives, particularly Salesforce-related projects and enhancements.
  • Review and validate team deliverables to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with business goals.
  • Partner with developers on solution design and support testing strategy, UAT, and implementation.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a team of business analysts and project managers, providing direction on analysis, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Allocate resources across project work and production support.
  • Drive adoption of best practices in business analysis, QA, and delivery.

Project Delivery

  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of application initiatives from discovery through deployment.
  • Ensure structured execution across requirements, testing, change management, and release processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to deliver solutions on time and within scope.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between IT and business units.
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions and communicate priorities, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders and leadership.

System Optimization & Support

  • Oversee ongoing management and enhancement of Salesforce and related systems.
  • Ensure data integrity, system adoption, and continuous improvement across platforms.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8–10+ years in enterprise applications, business systems, or IT delivery roles.
  • 3–5+ years managing or mentoring Business Analysts.
  • Strong hands-on Business Analyst experience, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution design.
  • Demonstrated experience with Salesforce, including enhancements, stakeholder engagement, and system optimization.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Expertise in business analysis and project management methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience implementing and administering Salesforce and integrated system environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a player-coach capacity.
  • Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery models.
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Administrator, Business Analyst).
  • Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
  • Experience incorporating AI into day-to-day activities related to the SDLC
  • Background in process improvement and change management.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit fund accounting and/or grantmaking is a plus.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, particularly financial modules and basic administration.

Reports To: Chief Information Officer

Salary Range: $150,000 – $160,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications listed above.
