The Manhattan Division is a dynamic team within the Fundraising Division at UJA-Federation that focuses on innovative ways to reach donors and build community through neighborhood engagement, synagogue affiliation, community participation, and intergenerational experiences. No matter what age or stage a person is in life, the Manhattan Division is a go-to resource to connect with peers and change lives through meaningful volunteer projects, content-rich experiences, neighborhood-based networks, UJA Pride, community events, and leadership development.

The Manhattan Division seeks a proactive, motivated, and flexible person to provide essential day-to-day administrative support to the professional staff overseeing the various Manhattan Division portfolios.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support Campaign director with overall Divisional tasks including coordinating team meetings, team retreats, and team events.
  • Support a total of three Manhattan Division professionals in their daily tasks including gift processing, expense reports, donor database management, and other routine items.
  • Become knowledgeable and proficient in use of UJA systems including our fundraising, grant making, and purchasing systems.
  • Manage logistics and support the team behind UJA’s community-wide events.
  • Draft and send acknowledgement letters and assemble internal and external mailings.
  • Help prepare for committee meetings and other meetings throughout the year.
  • Manage and update committee lists in our fundraising database.
  • Support other Manhattan Division team events including the Center for Youth Philanthropy and Leadership.
  • Staff FRD events outside of the Manhattan Division as needed.
  • Sit on a team with other Affinity admin professionals to share ideas and information.

Competencies/Experience

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively with a team.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Excellent relationship building, interpersonal skills, and customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to inspire and influence others.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required, as well as active listening skills.
  • Knowledge of issues facing the Jewish community and a strong commitment and passion to the mission of UJA-Federation.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-starter.
  • Willingness to be flexible with time and to work on Sundays and evenings as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to solve problems and work independently.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Salary: $50,000
