About the Opportunity

UJA Federation of Greater Toronto is seeking a highly strategic, creative, and execution-oriented Senior Marketing Manager, Activism & Engagement to serve as the lead marketing partner supporting UJA’s Mobilization, Activism & Engagement portfolio.

This role sits at the intersection of marketing, advocacy, community engagement, and public affairs. The successful candidate will lead integrated marketing and communications initiatives that inspire community participation, strengthen advocacy engagement, drive volunteer activation, support grassroots mobilization, and elevate public awareness around issues impacting Jewish life and community resilience.

This is a highly collaborative and fast-paced role requiring a strong combination of strategic thinking, storytelling, campaign leadership, stakeholder management, creative development, audience engagement, and hands-on execution.

The ideal candidate will bring experience developing impactful campaigns within advocacy, public affairs, nonprofit, political, mission-driven, or community-focused environments and possess the ability to translate complex issues into compelling narratives and calls to action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead integrated marketing and communications campaigns that drive community engagement, advocacy participation, volunteer activation, and grassroots mobilization.
  • Develop strategic communications plans and messaging frameworks related to public affairs, advocacy initiatives, civic engagement, social impact, and community priorities.
  • Translate complex issues into compelling campaigns, storytelling, narratives, calls to action, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Partner closely with Mobilization, Activism & Engagement teams to support advocacy initiatives, public affairs efforts, rallies, campaigns, volunteer engagement opportunities, and community response efforts.
  • Lead full campaign lifecycle management including strategy development, audience segmentation, creative direction, content development, approvals, stakeholder coordination, execution, optimization, and reporting.
  • Develop audience-focused engagement journeys designed to move individuals from awareness to participation and long-term community involvement.
  • Create and oversee campaign messaging, digital content, marketing materials, communications assets, presentations, and engagement tools across multiple channels.
  • Collaborate cross-functionallywith marketing, communications, fundraising, community engagement, and public affairs stakeholders.
  • Support rapid-response communications and engagement efforts related to emerging issues affecting Jewish life and community resilience.
  • Analyze campaign performance, engagement metrics, audience insights, and participation data tooptimizeeffectiveness and inform strategy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Postsecondary education in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, Public Affairs, Digital Media, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in integrated marketing, strategic communications, advocacy marketing, public affairs, political campaigns, government relations, public relations, journalism, community organizing, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience developing communications strategies and campaigns related to public policy, advocacy, civic engagement, social impact, or community engagement initiatives.
  • Passionate advocate and visible champion of UJA’s mission, values, and goals, inspiring others through action and unwavering commitment to advancing our shared purpose
  • Proven ability to translate complex issues into compelling campaigns, narratives, messaging frameworks, storytelling, and communications materials.
  • Strong experience leading integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns from concept through execution and performance analysis.
  • Excellent writing, editing, storytelling, and content development skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills with experience collaborating across multiple teams and priorities.
  • Experience with campaign strategy, digital engagement, audience development, and marketing analytics.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Experience within political campaigns, advocacy organizations, strategic communications, public affairs, journalism, nonprofit organizations, or community engagement environments is considered a strong asset.

  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, email marketing tools, social/digital platforms, and reporting tools is considered an asset.

*This is a full-time permanent position, Union Level 6. Salary Range: $81,000–$91,000 annually, based on experience.
