About the Opportunity
The Senior Manager, Supplemental Proposals & Stewardship plays a critical cross-functional role between the marketing, fundraising, The Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto, and program planning teams. Reporting to the Associate Director, Content Operations, this role enhances donor experience through the delivery of proposals and stewardship reports.
The Senior Manager contributes to solutions that deepen donor engagement through thoughtful stewardship, compelling storytelling, and strong collaboration across marketing, fundraising, and program teams. This includes identifying community priorities and fundraising opportunities, drafting persuasive proposals, following up with impactful stewardship reports, and supporting the development of operational systems to improve proposal and stewardship execution.
By effectively connecting community priorities with donor interests, the Senior Manager helps advance meaningful philanthropic investments in the Toronto Jewish community, in Israel, and globally.

As a key member of the Marketing team, the Senior Manager is motivated to achieve individual and team goals while contributing to UJA’s broader stewardship objectives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Research, write, and design high-quality proposals and stewardship materials that demonstrate the outcomes of community investments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Translate complex program outcomes into clear, engaging, and inspiring narratives that highlight impact and foster long-term donor engagement.
- Develop consistent, high-quality, and meaningful messaging for donors and fundholders.
- Support the management of proposal and stewardship report projects, including briefing, scheduling, reviews and approvals, and debriefing.
- Contribute to prioritizing the portfolio of proposal and stewardship projects.
- Collaborate cross-functionally across UJA’s internal teams, working with marketing, donor managers, philanthropic advisors, program planning leads, and other internal staff.
- Support the identification of community priorities and fundraising opportunities aligned with donor interests.
Contribute to the development of impact information and insights needed for proposals and stewardship reports, and other impact communications messaging.
- Contribute to assessing the effectiveness of proposals and stewardship reports by developing and monitoring metrics related to donor engagement, granting patterns, and interests.
- Support the development of operational systems to continuously improve proposal and stewardship reporting execution.
- Ensure that all donor-facing materials align with UJA’s values, brand, and communications standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of similar or related experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly
- Passionate advocate and visible champion of UJA’s mission, values, and goals, inspiring others through action and unwavering commitment to advancing our shared purpose.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and compelling messages
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
- A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to support the management of projects from concept through execution
- Strategic and critical thinking skills, with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Experience with grant or proposal writing, design, branding, marketing, or communications is an asset
- High attention to detail and sound judgment
- Demonstrated creativity and adaptability in professional settings
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
- Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience
*This is a full-time permanent position. Union Level 6. Salary range: $79,00-$89,000 annually, based on experience. At UJA we support a flexible work schedule and all of our employees engage in hybrid work. In addition to a rich time off policy, UJA’s offices are closed on all Jewish holy days (yom tov) and we support early office closures to observe the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat).
