About the Opportunity
UJA is seeking a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented Production Artist to join our Marketing department. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your creative career while contributing to meaningful work. The Marketing team plays a key role in shaping the organization’s voice and visual identity, using storytelling, design, multimedia, and immersive experiences to engage the community in UJA’s mission.
Reporting to the Director, Design, the Junior Graphic Designer will support design efforts across the organization, helping to bring campaigns, events, and communications to life across digital and print platforms.
This role is ideal for someone early in their design career who is eager to learn, brings a positive, can-do attitude and takes pride in producing polished, thoughtful work.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Produce print and digital assets following established brand guidelines, including event collateral, social media graphics, email campaigns, presentations, and signage
- Support the design team by adapting creative and campaign materials across various platforms and formats
- Ensure design quality and consistency across all deliverables with strong attention to detail
- Prepare, package, and review files for print and digital production, including custom die lines and finishes
- Manage in-house printing and review printer proofs and samples
- Assist with event execution, including on-site setup and pre-event logistics
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Provide quick-turn design support for the Marketing team
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related discipline
- Entry-level; recent graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of relevant design experience (including internships or freelance)
- A portfolio that demonstrates design ability, strong layout, typography, and visual storytelling skills
- Technical expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat, and other programs as necessary)
- Experience with Stripo or email marketing platforms (like Pardot) is an asset
- Experience working in or with mission-driven or non-profit organizations is a plus
- Familiarity with the Toronto Jewish community and/or experience in Jewish Communal Service considered an asset
* This is a full-time permanent position. Union Level 2. As UJA currently operates on a hybrid basis. Please note that UJA’s offices are closed on all Jewish holy days (yom tov) and the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat).
