About the Opportunity
The Senior Director, Donor Stewardship & Impact is a key leadership role within UJA’s Integrated Development Department, focused on enhancing donor experiences and deepening donor engagement through high-impact stewardship initiatives, educational programming and impact reporting.
This position will develop and oversee the strategy plan and content for stewardship of Annual Campaign, Transformational Campaigns and Directed gifts related to impact. The Senior Director, Stewardship & Impact will also be a key liaison with the planning and marketing departments to develop ways to educate our donors about UJA’s impact. This role will oversee curated experiences and stewardship opportunities designed to inspire and connect donors to UJA’s mission and impact. The Senior Director will also lead the production of personalized stewardship reports and integrate impact stories and case studies into ongoing donor communications. Elevating existing donor events with compelling UJA narratives will be central to this role’s success. This role will also oversee a stewardship and impact team (of 3-5 professionals).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the strategy and oversee the content for stewardship of Annual Campaign, Transformational Campaigns and Directed gifts related to impact.
- Lead UJA’s Stewardship Department, overseeing the planning and execution of impactful programs and stewardship experiences for our leading donors and prospects.
- Curate and oversee immersive and impactful experiences for donors, linking them deeply to UJA’s mission and impact.
- Oversee the production of individualized stewardship reports for leading donors, in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Integrate compelling impact stories and case-for-giving narratives into regular stewardship communications.
- Elevate existing donor events and experiences to maximize inspiration, education, and donor retention.
- Collaborate with fundraising teams to ensure stewardship is fully aligned with donor journeys and UJA priorities.
- Create tools for Donor Managers to use to ensure regular, personalized engagement with leading donors to sustain and deepen relationships.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and logistics related to stewardship programming
- Provide leadership in enhancing donor education ,satisfaction and affinity to UJA, across all major giving levels.
- Liaison with marketing and planning department to create strategies and tools to relay UJA impact to both our fundraising staff and donor base
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in donor stewardship, immersive education and mission planning
- Strong understanding of major donor expectations and relationship management best practices.
- Proven ability to design and deliver compelling experiential programs for high-net-worth individuals.
- Exceptional communication, storytelling, and writing skills.
- Demonstrated success in building meaningful relationships with donors and volunteers.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Proficiency with CRM and donor databases (Salesforce preferred).
- Passion for UJA’s mission and the Jewish community.
- Ability to travel periodically as required for mission programming.
