About the Opportunity

UJA’s Donor Services team is a key operational unit that processes incoming donations, resolves payment issues, issues charitable tax receipts, responds to donor questions/requests, and acts as an information source for the Jewish community on a variety of subjects. The Coordinator position works cooperatively with all Donor Services team members and UJA fundraisers to achieve UJA objectives. There is significant interaction with donors and the general public via email and phone.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Respond to Donor inquiries with a focus on efficient and timely resolution
  • Support fundraising operations as requested
  • Process Donor payments both online and via credit card, enter payments into Salesforce, request write-offs/adjustments where required and follow up with donors as required
  • Reconcile Donor accounts while resolving discrepancies through investigation and correction
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analytics
  • Report on trends of questions/inquiries that are coming from the community
  • Generate bills on defined schedules to collect donations
  • Answer the Donations Hotline providing exceptional customer service
  • Staff UJA Live Chat to respond to inquiries online real time
  • Act as a community liaison by responding to emergency calls from community members to provide connections/referrals with providers who can help with urgent needs.

  • Excellent customer service
  • Excellent phone manner
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Works well under pressure, demonstrates discretion, exercises sound judgment, maintains confidentiality and sets priorities
  • Willingness to work independently and as a member of the team
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to problem solve for amicable and timely resolutions within a customer service framework
  • Proficient with basic mathematics
  • Familiar with analytics and reporting
  • Ability to write basic business correspondence
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams

This is a full-time permanent position, Union Level 2. At UJA we support a flexible work schedule and all of our employees engage in hybrid work. In addition to a rich time off policy, UJA’s offices are closed on all Jewish holy days (yom tov) and we support early office closures to observe the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat).
