Chief Executive Officer

Position Summary:
The inaugural Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TribeTalk serves as the top executive leader of the organization, responsible for guiding its strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining financial health, and upholding the mission of helping young adults to recognize and respond to antisemitism. As the first professional CEO of this 6-year-old organization, which has been primarily lay-led, TribeTalk’s CEO will be both visionary and detail-oriented, with a true passion for supporting the next generation of American Jews. The CEO works closely with the Board of Directors, staff, funders, community partners, and stakeholders to advance the organization's goals and ensure its long-term sustainability and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategic Vision
● Provide visionary and strategic leadership to fulfill TribeTalk’s mission.
● Develop and implement long-range strategies and annual goals in collaboration with the Board.
● Promote a strong organizational culture aligned with TribeTalk’s core values.
Fundraising & Resource Development
● Frontline fundraiser leading and implementing fundraising strategy, including donor cultivation, grant writing, and major gifts.
● Maintain and build relationships with funders, foundations, and key stakeholders.
● Represent the organization in public forums to build visibility and support.
Board Relations
● Work closely with the organizational founders and Board of Directors to elevate TribeTalk’s positioning and fund development.
● Serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors and staff.
● Provide timely and accurate reports on the organization’s performance, challenges, and opportunities.
● Assist in the recruitment, orientation, and development of Board members.
Operational & Financial Management
● Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and program effectiveness.
● Develop and manage annual budgets and ensure sound financial practices.
● Ensure legal and ethical integrity, and compliance with all regulations.
Staff Leadership & Development
● Hire, manage, and retain high-performing staff, external consultants and leadership team members.
● Foster a healthy, inclusive, and motivating work environment.
● Support professional development and performance management.
External Relations & Advocacy
● Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, representing TribeTalk at a variety of industry conferences and events throughout the year.
● Establish TribeTalk as an innovative thought leader with op-eds, blog posts, and a social media presence that is beneficial to the organization
● Build and maintain strategic partnerships and alliances.
● Advocate for policies and initiatives that support the organization’s mission.
Qualifications:
● Proven experience in nonprofit leadership, preferably at the executive level.
● Strong understanding of nonprofit governance and financial management.
● Experience with creating and maintaining budgets
● Proven track record of major donor and foundation fundraising and partnership development
● Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
● Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
● Experience in establishing business goals and strategies
● Excellent writing skills
● Proficient with Microsoft suite and Google docs
● Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in nonprofit management, public administration, business, or a related field preferred.
