Reports to: Director of Programming and Communications
Tribe 12’s mission is to connect people in their 20s/30s to Jewish life and community in Philadelphia today so they will choose to stay connected tomorrow.
Our programming includes social events, matchmaking services, affinity groups called “Tribes,” a personal and professional mentorship program for young adults, learning cohorts, and much more. Our vision is to build Jewish connections so that each Tribe 12 constituent can connect with others that inspire them, feel empowered to create their own meaningful experience with Judaism and build Jewish community in our city - or wherever they may go.
We're looking for a creative, organized, and enthusiastic Communications & Digital Content Intern to help tell the story of Tribe 12. This is an ideal opportunity for a student interested in nonprofit marketing, communications, journalism, or digital media.
The Communications & Digital Content Intern will help manage our social media presence, create engaging content, support our blog, and showcase the vibrant experiences happening throughout the Tribe 12 community. You'll collaborate with staff to bring our programs and community stories to life while helping expand our reach and engagement.
- Execute the social media calendar developed in collaboration with the Director of Programming and Communications (6 hours)
- Oversee the blog, publishing two blog posts or community spotlights each month, either writing posts or delegating the writing of posts to team members (3 hours)
- Attend one Tribe 12 event per month, agreed upon with the Director of Programming and Communications, to capture photos and short videos (2 hours)
- Suggest and develop creative content based on current social media trends (2 hours)
- Monitor social media engagement and alert staff to comments or messages that need responses (1 hour)
- Attend two 30-minute supervision sessions with Director of Programming and Communications per month (1 hour)
- Current undergraduate or graduate student.
- Interest in Jewish community and nonprofit work.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Experience with Canva or similar design tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable interviewing people and telling authentic community stories.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small, mission-driven team.
- Photography or video editing experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in communications for a mission-driven nonprofit.
