Overview

The Assistant to the Resident Director at the Lander College for Women provides administrative and operational support to the Residence Director and contributes to the effective day-to-day functioning of the residence hall. The position supports the administration of residential operations, coordinates correspondence and documentation, assists with scheduling, and serves as a key point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors. The Assistant helps ensure that administrative processes are organized, timely, and responsive to the needs of the residential community.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and submit departmental requisitions; track purchase orders and follow up to resolve any ordering or payment issues.
  • Track and maintain records of all departmental orders and supplies to ensure timely delivery and appropriate inventory levels.
  • Order office and residence hall supplies as needed.
  • Draft, format, and distribute memos, flyers, letters, and general correspondence on behalf of the Residence Director.
  • Create and maintain student housing packets; review submissions for completeness and follow up regarding missing documentation.
  • Serve as a welcoming point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors.
  • Escort workers throughout the residence.
  • Track and maintain training schedules and meetings for staff (eg, RA's, etc) and students.
  • Assist with coordinating the move of students in and out of the dorm.
  • Conduct apartment inspections following student move-out; document damages and report findings to the Residence Director.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • BA/BS preferred.
  • Previous experience with general office administrative responsibilities and procedures.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.

Maximum Salary

USD $55,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $44,000.00/Yr.
