Overview
The Driver to the President provides safe and reliable transportation for the President while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and supporting related administrative needs as required.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operating assigned vehicle skillfully and safely, even during inclement weather
- Maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety readiness of the assigned vehicle, including performing pre-trip procedures as required
- Carrying and loading luggage, opening doors, and ensuring safe entry and exit from the vehicle
- Reviewing paperwork, including routing and special instructions
- Performing administrative and messenger duties while on the road and in the office
- Being punctual and dependable for all transportation needs and assignments
- Maintaining current vehicle documentation, including registration, inspection, insurance, and other required records
- Maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion regarding the President's schedule, conversations, and activities
- Collaborating with members of the President's Office and Executive Staff to support the President's schedule and transportation needs
- Adhering to the uniform dress code, maintaining a polished appearance, and projecting a professional, service-driven attitude
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid New York State driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably providing transportation for senior executives and leaders.
- Former law enforcement experience preferred.
- Training in dignitary protection a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of safe driving practices, traffic laws, and vehicle safety procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and provide courteous service.
- Excellent punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner.
- Ability to adapt to changing travel schedules, priorities, and assignments with flexibility and professionalism.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use email, calendars, and Microsoft office applications.
Travel
- Frequent travel throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Working Conditions
- Extensive time sitting while operating the vehicle.
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist with loading/unloading luggage, packages, or materials as needed.
- Requires flexibility, such as weekend and evening hours as needed, to meet the President's schedule of events.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Maximum Salary
USD $110,000.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $90,000.00/Yr.
