Overview
Touro College of Dental Medicine (TCDM) invites applications for the TCDMNYSADC (New York State Academic Dental Centers) Fellowship to AddressOral Health Disparities. This is a one-year fellowship program focused on advanced training in providing care for people with special needs, with aparticular emphasis on people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The Fellow will receive robust advanced clinical experiences at TDH, YAI, The Center for Discovery (TCFD), as well as in the Operating Room at Westchester Medical Center (WMC) and/or its affiliate locations. In addition to their clinical responsibilities, fellows will devote 20% of their fellowship year to teaching and/or research.
Responsibilities
- Clinical care at Premier Health Young Adult Institute (YAI)Dental Services, The Center for Discovery Dental Services, Touro Dental Health (TDH), and WMC/affiliate Operating Rooms.
- Clinical teaching of dental students and research within the realm ofdentistry and IDD.
- Exposure to interdisciplinary medicine services through YAI and TCFD.
- Must be committed to working with people with special needs and underserved patients.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) Required.
Certifications/Licensures
- Dental License Registration required.
- CPR Certification required.
- NYS Dental License required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty and colleagues.
- Overall business acumen, ethical decision making and relationship management skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal).
- General Administrative Duties.
- Effectively manage and organize daily tasks independently and with a team while balancing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving skills, collaboration and matrix management skills.
- Strong attention to details.
- Accuracy and productivity in completing tasks.
