Overview

Touro University’s Lander College for Men (LCM) is hiring adjunct faculty to facilitate a six-week workshop titled “Interpersonal Communication: Success in the Workplace”. Workshop topics include self-awareness, listening, nonverbal communication, emotional intelligence, multiculturalism, and how to succeed during a job interview. Adjuncts will participate in a structured training program to master the curriculum and deliver the material in a very dynamic and interactive way.

The workshop will be held in person at our Queens campus in Kew Garden Hills from October 7- November 16, 2026, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:25pm-5:35pm and 5:50pm-7:00pm. Preference will be given to adjuncts available to teach both sections consecutively. Enrollment is limited to 10-12 students.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver course syllabi, lectures, and assignments that are aligned with the department's curriculum and meet the needs of students.
  • Grade student work promptly and provide feedback as necessary.
  • Meet with students during regularly scheduled office hours and other scheduled times to provide support and guidance.
  • Participate in department meetings and faculty development activities.
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest developments within discipline and incorporate them into teaching materials.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement new courses and programs.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where students are comfortable participating and learning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in theater or communication is strongly preferred. We would consider someone with an extensive background in theater on a part-time basis.
  • A Master’s degree or higher in relevant academic field is preferred.
  • Previous college-level teaching experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

  • The instructor should be poised and confident. They should be able to demonstrate the course material in a clear and understandable way.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Theater training or experience running improvisation exercises, preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to teaching excellence.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge base within academic field; ability to keep up to date with advancements in field of study.

USD $750.00/Course
