Overview

A faculty member with the rank of instructor or above is responsible to teach in the lecture and/or laboratory setting for the Pathologists' Assistant (PathA) program. Adjuncts are assigned to provide instruction in a portion of the curriculum for which they has suitable training and experience.

Responsibilities

The following outlines the basic responsibilities of this position. Other duties are to be assigned as necessary.

  • Prepare and deliver lectures or laboratory lessons on assigned topics
  • Participate in assessment of student performance through appropriate examination methods) as assigned
  • Promote an appropriate atmosphere for student education and be responsive to students' needs
  • Serve on TOUROCOM committees as assigned: Provide reports, budgetary information and other documents) as requested by department chairs) directors, and deans
  • Advise and mentor students
  • Participate in pathologists' assistant student admissions interviews

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Master's Degree required
  • Doctorate Degree preferred
  • Graduate level degree (Master's or Doctoral) in any of the topics mentioned in the job responsibilities section
  • Pathologists' Assistant ASCP certification and an active New York State Pathologists' Assistant License

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • General administrative duties required
  • Overall business acumen, ethical decision making and relationship management skills required
  • Proficient in the following areas: Relevant content expertise, research techniques, instructional design, delivery and assessment, course management, psychometrics/statistics, learning theory, public speaking, effective communication, conflict management

    Working Conditions

    • Able to lift up to 5 lbs.

    Maximum Salary

    USD $150.00/Hr.

    Minimum Salary

    USD $120.00/Hr.
