Overview
The Program Associate is responsible for providing overall administrative support to the Education and Special Education Programs.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Works closely with the Program Chair, faculty, and the offices of Clinical Practice, Recruitment, Admissions, Registrar, Bursar, and Certification Officer to ensure that each degree or certificate candidate is supported to complete the degree program or certificate requirements.
- Assists Program Chair and program advisors in managing student cases (creating case overviews & providing next steps; following up each case to closure).
- Advises a caseload of candidates in the program, as determined by the Senior Director for Graduate Advisement. This includes performing all advising functions applicable to all advisors, attending all trainings and PD events for advisors, scheduling advisement/support appointments for candidates, and any other tasks assigned to advisors
- Assist the Chair and the Academic Affairs team with the procedures connected to early alerts and other aspects regarding student performance in courses, including probation letters, appeals, & academic integrity cases
- Coordinates paperwork and submission of documentation to the Registrar and other offices for any Incomplete Contracts, grade changes, course repeat forms, or grade appeals
- Organizes, maintains, updates programs’ digital file storage systems to track items connected to student academic performance and other student issues
- Prepares reports and adds data to the various academic trackers as needed
- Keeps current on the latest information from the New York State Department of Education that affects currently enrolled and graduating candidates
- Upholds the mission and values of Touro University and the Graduate School of Education
- Participate in cross-training for coverage of areas as needed
- Fulfills other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelors Degree required
- Masters Degree and experience in P-12 education strongly preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills, writing and speaking
- Well organized, able to prioritize tasks
- Data and technology literate
Technology Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive
- Proficiency in DocuSign
- Proficiency in Qualtrics or Microsoft forms
- Proficiency in Banner or similar database management software
- Proficiency in Canvas
- Proficiency in cloud-computing services, including Google Drive and Box.com
- Experience using web-conferencing tools such as GoToMeeting, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
- Experience using Tableau preferred
Maximum Salary
USD $54,000.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $43,200.00/Yr.
