Overview

The Director of Dental Implantology provides academic, clinical, and strategic leadership for implant dentistry education and services within the dental school. This role ensures integration of implantology across predoctoral, advanced education, and continuing education programs while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, learner development, and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the implant dentistry curriculum across the predoctoral programs
  • Ensure vertical and horizontal integration of implant concepts throughout restorative, surgical, and interdisciplinary courses
  • Align curriculum with current evidence-based practices, CODA standards, and emerging technologies
  • Develop learning objectives, assessments, and competencies related to implant diagnosis, treatment planning, surgical placement, restoration, and maintenance
  • Clinical Oversight and Patient Care
  • Provide leadership for implant clinical services within the school's clinics
  • Establish and maintain clinical protocols and guidelines for implant treatment and complication management
  • Ensure patient safety, ethical care, and consistent clinical quality
  • Monitor clinical outcomes, complications, and quality assurance metrics
  • Promote interdisciplinary collaboration among Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Radiology Service and Professional Engagement
  • Serve on dental school committees as assigned
  • Represent the school in professional implant dentistry organizations
  • Maintain clinical licensure, professional currency, and continuing education

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • DDS/DMD or equivalent from a CODA-accredited dental school required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Advanced training and documented expertise in dental implantology
  • Demonstrated excellence in implant clinical practice
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Maximum Salary

USD $100,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $80,000.00/Yr.
