Overview
The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator is responsible for the management of fieldwork education.
Responsibilities
- Oversee, coordinate, and manage quality fieldwork experiences for occupational therapy (OT) students to practice skills aligned with the curricula and in accordance with the standards of accrediting bodies and other requirements
- Community engagement to establish and maintain collaborative and contractual relationships with fieldwork educators and provide innovative experiences for OT students
- Conduct assessment and related strategic planning for continuous improvement of fieldwork sites and student performance in fieldwork
- Oversee organized electronic record keeping of fieldwork documentation
- Support fieldwork educators and collaborate to mentor and advise students in professional development related to fieldwork
- Teach the required reduced credit of coursework related to fieldwork and professional development
- Serve as faculty advisor to assigned students
- Participate in service to the school and community
- Participate in scholarly activities
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist and experience or training as a fieldwork educator
- Earned Doctorate in Occupational Therapy or a related discipline preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and management skills
- Strong writing and communication skills
Certifications/Licensures
- Initial certification and NY state professional license as an Occupational Therapist
Travel
- Travel within NYC, Long Island, and surrounding area to fieldwork sites and periodically between campuses.
Maximum Salary
USD $100,000.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $80,000.00/Yr.
