Overview

A full-time laboratory research position with teaching opportunities is open in the Department of Biology at the Touro University, Lander College for Men in Queens NY. This unique opportunity involves independent bench research in the laboratory of Dr. Yakov Peter and the possibility for undergraduate teaching and instruction. Our laboratory is interested in molecular and cellular patterns of stem cell differentiation and tissue regeneration in health and disease.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent laboratory research.
  • Design, analyze, visualize, and interpret experimental data using molecular and cellular biology techniques.
  • Help draft, revise, and publish scientific manuscripts in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Contribute to undergraduate education, by assisting with laboratory instruction, mentoring students, and participating in departmental teaching initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty and research staff to support the broader goals of the Biology Department.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology or related fields required.
  • A postdoctoral, doctoral (Ph.D.) or Masters (M.Sc.) degree with 3+ years experience in tissue culture, genetic, biochemical, and/or immunological techniques preferred.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience or interest in acquiring teaching skills.

Maximum Salary

USD $58,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $46,400.00/Yr.
