Tkiya creates participatory music experiences that meet participants where they are - physically, psychologically, and spiritually - to find their unique connection to Jewish culture and community. We are best known for our work with families with young children, and we partner with 50+ organizations in the NY area and beyond, engaging with thousands of families each year to inspire a love for Judaism. We are also quickly becoming known for our work with senior citizens and other audiences.

Tkiya is seeking a full time Program & Development Director, a position that reports directly to the Executive Director. Much of this role is remote but the ideal candidate would attend programming in the New York Metropolitan Area on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:

The Program & Development Director will provide key support in the following areas:

  • Manage programming to grow Tkiya’s impact:
    • Oversee operations related to Tkiya’s programs
    • Create and execute systems for program evaluation (with support from the Board’s Program Evaluation Committee)
    • Strategically grow Tkiya’s program offerings and audiences served across the country
    • Work with the Education Coordinator to create new programs and develop plans for execution
  • Manage the Education team
    • Help to define, strengthen, and activate our company culture
    • Directly supervise the Education Coordinator and support them in managing 12+ part time teachers
    • Plan and execute monthly staff meetings
    • Assist in management of employee schedules
    • Oversee hiring and training of new teachers (may involve travel)
    • Create and manage systems for performance evaluation
  • Manage partnerships
    • Identify new potential partnerships
    • Work with partners on developing programming that fits their needs
    • Receive feedback on teacher performance from partners
    • Correspond with partner organizations to schedule programs and events
    • Represent Tkiya at professional development and networking events (may involve travel)
  • Drive community engagement
    • Build and maintain relationships with Tkiya’s Parent Ambassadors and other participants
    • Manage email communications with Tkiya participants and other stakeholders
  • Manage development
    • Help to identify donors
    • Create and maintain stewardship plans
    • Identify potential funders and organize grant opportunities
    • Assist in grant writing and reporting

Skills and experience:

  • Relevant experience in overseeing programs, development, and engagement
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, online, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Skilled in managing individuals remotely

Commitment: 40 hours per week

Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000

Benefits: $480 monthly QSEHRA Healthcare reimbursement, unlimited PTO
