Lower School First Grade General Studies Teacher Long Term Leave Replacement (Full Year)

The Leffell School is a cutting-edge K–12 Jewish independent school serving more than 850 students on two campuses in Westchester County, NY, 30 minutes north of New York City. We are seeking a General Studies teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

Position Overview:

Our Lower School is seeking a dynamic educator for a Lower Elementary General Studies role. This position will begin as a First Grade Associate Lead and transition into a Long-Term Leave Replacement as a Head Teacher.

Responsibilities:

• Teach language arts, reading, writing, and math

• Support students' learning in specific content areas and skill development

• Organize and lead small group instruction for students with proven ability to grasp math and apply math concepts quickly

• Use project-based teaching skills

• Collaborate with other classroom teachers

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of professional experience or 5+ years of on the job experience
• Must have completed at least a bachelor's degree
• Master's degree preferred
