The Leffell School is a dynamic, K-12 independent Jewish school serving approximately 850 students in Westchester County, 30 minutes north of New York City. We emphasize academic excellence, traditional Jewish learning and values, and a strong sense of community.

Our Upper School currently has openings for:

- A Middle School Judaic Studies Teacher

- A High School Talmud Teacher

- A High School Judaic Studies Leave Replacement Teacher for Fall 2026

All of these positions begin in August 2026

We are seeking dynamic, warm, experienced Judaic Studies teachers to join our Middle and High School Judaic Studies Teams, teaching grades 6 - 8 and 9 - 12 respectively. Ideal candidates are collaborative and capable of creating active lessons that engage students in content, while teaching critical skills for text learning, all while engendering a love of Judaism in the process.

Candidates should have mastery in teaching Mishnah/Gemara, Tanakh, and/or Limudei Kodesh more broadly in a middle or high school setting, paired with an evidence-based, backward design approach to teaching and learning. We seek to ground our students in rigorous study of Talmud and Tanakh, to engender a love of Talmud Torah, and to help our students develop skills to support lifelong learning. Colleagues also participate as teachers in our Tefilah program and in the life of the school more broadly.

Qualifications: Experience teaching Judaic Studies in a formal classroom setting is required. Experience teaching middle or high school students specifically will be helpful.

The salary range for the full time positions is $60-$90,000 per year, and compensation is commensurate with experience. The salary for the leave replacement position will be based on the full time salary range, adjusted for duration and commensurate with experience.
