Communications & Media Manager
The Leffell School, a K-12 Jewish independent school committed to academic excellence and community engagement, seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Communications & Media Manager to join our Communications Team. This is a full-time, 12-month, in-person position responsible for capturing and disseminating engaging content across all school channels.
Key Responsibilities
Visual Content & Media Management
Capture high-quality photography and short-form video of key events and daily school life across both campuses.
Produce weekly video content for the community newsletter, including the "Flashback Friday" feature.
Curate family-facing photo galleries following major events.
Manage digital assets by organizing, editing, and cataloging within the school’s digital media archive and shared Google Drives.
Assist the Communications Team with basic graphic design for both print and digital materials using platforms such as Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Create and publish content for the digital screens located around the campuses.
Ensure all visual and written content consistently reflects the school’s brand, mission, and values.
Digital Communications & Social Media
Create and schedule compelling content (including photo/graphic and short-form videos) for the school’s primary social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn).
Monitor current trends, tools, and best practices in social media to ensure content remains engaging and relevant.
Help maintain the school website by ensuring all information is up to date, creating new event pages as needed, and supporting summer content development and SEO projects.
Track communications metrics and assist with periodic reports on website traffic, social media performance, and email engagement.
Written Content & Advancement Support
Collaborate with the communications team to write and manage a wide range of materials, including newsletters, emails, website copy, fundraising appeals, and event invitations.
Edit and proofread content to maintain high grammatical accuracy and ensure consistent messaging, tone, and brand alignment across all channels.
Assist with email communications and marketing campaigns using platforms such as Blackbaud PushPages and MailChimp.
Provide overall team support for key advancement initiatives in fundraising, community engagement, and admissions, including administrative, logistical, and communications support as required.
Qualifications
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills across multiple formats.
Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining brand and messaging consistency.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
A collaborative and proactive approach to work, with a willingness to experiment and iterate.
Proficiency in photo and video editing software, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro), Canva, CapCut, or similar design platforms.
Experience managing social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and up-to-date knowledge of best practices in social media (familiarity with scheduling tools like Meta Business Suite or Hootsuite is a plus).
Experience utilizing email marketing tools (i.e., MailChimp and Blackbaud PushPages) and managing websites (knowledge of WordPress and SEO is a plus).
Proficiency in G Suite.
Familiarity with Judaism, Jewish holidays, and Hebrew is beneficial but not required.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and car, as this role requires travel between our campuses in White Plains and Hartsdale to capture content.
Compensation and Benefits
Schedule: Full-time, year-round position. Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (or 1:30 p.m. from November to March). Limited weekend and evening hours are required for select school events.

Paid Time Off (PTO): Generous PTO package, including school breaks, major Jewish holidays, and additional vacation/personal days.
Salary for this role is between $65,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience.
