The Leffell School is a cutting-edge K–12 Jewish independent school serving more than 850 students on two campuses in Westchester County, NY, 30 minutes north of New York City. We are seeking a High School Science Teacher to begin in August 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an outstanding and dedicated High School Science Department Chair professional who will engage and inspire students, foster strong communication with parents and colleagues, and contribute to our mission of developing students to become responsible, honest, compassionate, and respectful citizens.
Responsibilities:
• Teach a limited number of chemistry classes including an advanced-level senior chemistry elective.
• Lead a talented and committed team of teachers in sharing their love of scientific inquiry with our 9th - 12th grade students
• Engaging students in scientific discovery through challenging classroom learning and the formation of meaningful relationships
Qualifications:
• Several years of leadership experience
• Experience teaching chemistry
• Master’s degree in chemistry is required
• Master’s degree in science education is preferred

Compensation and Benefits:
• Pay Rate: $90,000 - $115,000
• Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, Long-term and Short-term disability Insurance, Accident and Critical Illness Insurance, 403b
