Kindergarten General Studies Teacher

The Leffell School is a cutting-edge K–12 Jewish independent school serving more than 850 students on two campuses in Westchester County, NY, 30 minutes north of New York City. We are seeking a Kindergarten General Studies Teacher who can begin in August 2025.

Position Overview:

The Leffell Lower School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Kindergarten General Studies Teacher. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, understands the developmental needs of young elementary students, and brings creativity and structure to the classroom.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement engaging lessons using the centers model in English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science , aligned with curriculum standards.

• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and learning

• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.

• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, students, and school leadership.

• Collaborate with grade-level and subject-area colleagues to ensure consistency and alignment.

• Assess student progress and maintain accurate records.

• Participate in school meetings, duties, and professional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Early Education.

• Prior experience teaching Kindergarten.

• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

• Commitment to fostering a nurturing and academically challenging classroom environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay Rate: $60,000-$80,000

• Benefits: Generous paid time off, including personal days, and holidays. Health benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, and FSAs. Others include a retirement saving plan (403b) and wellness benefits.
