Volunteer Services Coordinator

In this role, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and growing volunteer programs as part of the JUF TOV Volunteer Network (TOV), which connects members of the Jewish community with meaningful opportunities to give back across Chicagoland. In this collaborative role, you will build relationships with community partners, work closely with volunteers and lay leaders, and lead engaging service initiatives that make a real difference in the community while helping people find rewarding ways to get involved. The salary range is $55,000-$58,000.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Programming:
- Plan, recruit, and implement multiple volunteer opportunities every month.
- Work with other departments to create volunteer programming and service-learning experiences for their respective demographics.
- Collaborate with an external non-profit partner to oversee weekly tutoring program.
- Coordinate annual MLK Day volunteer program and undertake new projects as needs arise.
- Staff TOV programs and events as needed.
- Partnerships:
- Lead a committee of lay leaders/donors to help plan a bi-annual community-wide collection drive.
- Represent the JUF TOV Network to other departments, agencies and lay leadership as needed.
- Foster new partnerships and relationships between TOV and Chicagoland organizations, synagogues, and institutions.
- Communication:
- Manage general TOV inquiries and referrals.
- Maintain the newsletter, website, and all social media platforms.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent relevant experience
- 2-5 years’ experience in an office setting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with virtual meeting facilitation (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
- Ability to become proficient in Salesforce
- Detail oriented with strong organizational, verbal and written communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Comfort when working with a wide range of professionals and lay leaders, including overseeing a committee
- Willingness to create and lead service learning conversations
- Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple projects at one time, and work independently as well as collaboratively
- Valid driver’s license encouraged—owning a car is a plus.

OUR HYBRID SCHEDULE:
We have a hybrid work policy to allow staff the flexibility to work from home / remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Tuesdays-Thursdays, the standard work location is 30 South Wells Street in Chicago, and staff are expected to work in person. We have a 36.5 hour work week, not a 40 hour work week. Our work hours are 8:30am-5pm Monday-Thursday and 8:30am-4pm Friday with a daily 1 hour lunch break.
