EZRA Multi Service Center is a community-based service center that provides emergency services to seniors, people with mental illness, people with disabilities, people living with chronic illness, parents and children, people who are homeless, and other people in need. In this position, you will provide case management services for clients who are eligible for financial assistance and financial literacy programming. You will be responsible for conducting screenings and assessments, determining emergency needs (such as rental and utility assistance), and advocating for clients on various issues. You’ll also assess eligibility for public benefits, provide personalized budgeting support, and help create useful programs for clients to attend. In this job, you will help improve the quality of life for our clients.
What you’ll be doing:
- Client Services
- Conduct screenings, intakes and assessments for clients in need of emergency services and financial assistance.
- Work with clients in crisis to determine the need for rental, utility, and other financial assistance.
- Provide advocacy regarding a variety of issues, including benefits maintenance.
- Conduct benefits assessments and link clients with public benefits and resources they are eligible for.
- Assist clients with personal budgeting based on their needs.
- Provide case collaboration and coordination across departments.
- Programming
- Assist with developing programming and conducting monthly workshops based on client needs (e.g., budgeting). Participate in center-wide group programs and holiday celebrations.
- Administrative Duties
- Enter case notes accurately and on a timely basis.
- Track attendance at programs.
- Actively participate in meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years’ experience in the social service field.
- Experience working with others on personal budgeting and financial stability preferred.
- Interest in working for an agency with an urban Jewish social justice agenda.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn other software systems.
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and a high level of accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate with a broad range of individuals.
- Empathy and sensitivity in working with low-income populations.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., phone, computer), sit, stand, bend, twist and/or walk on a frequent basis, and physical stamina to be mobile for long periods.

Salary range: $45,000-$50,000
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm, Friday 9:00am-4:00pm
