The Jewish Grad Organization (JGO) is a non-profit organization supporting Jewish graduate students on over 155 campuses across North America. Position Overview

JGO seeks a dynamic professional to serve as the Mid-Atlantic Development and Engagement Coordinator, blending fundraising and community engagement to build vibrant Jewish communities while driving financial support for our mission. This role is based in the Mid-Atlantic with travel to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas.

Time Allocation:

  • 70% Development: Build relationships with donors and prospects, driving philanthropic support for JGO programs.
  • 30% Engagement: Cultivate meaningful connections with students and work to enhance Jewish life on grad campuses in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Key Responsibilities

Development (70%)

  • Fundraising Metrics: Develop and maintain relationships with a portfolio of donors and prospects, focusing on identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of high-net-worth individuals.
  • Donor Engagement: Conduct donor meetings, utilizing a mix of in-person meetings, Zoom, calls, emails, and texts.
  • Proposal Development: Draft compelling funding proposals and strategize with JGO’s leadership team to secure new gifts.
  • Solicitation Campaigns: Lead solicitation efforts along with the CEO during JGO’s annual campaign.
  • Tracking & Reporting: Maintain donor records and engagement plans in JGO’s database, ensuring up-to-date tracking of donor interactions.
  • Regional Travel: Occasionally travel to Baltimore/DC to meet donors or attend national events (flexible based on availability).
  • Network Growth: Identify and engage new donor prospects annually, focusing on professionals in finance, entrepreneurship, and other strategic industries.

Engagement (30%)

  • Student Interactions: Meet with 2-4 student leaders per week, through Zoom (once a month) and in-person (twice per semester).
  • Program Coordination: Assist programming team in organizing impactful monthly programs like themed Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, cultural workshops, and campus speaker series.
  • Event Recruitment: Recruit students for JGO events like JELCON, Fellowship, and intercity Shabbat dinners.
  • Regional Travel: Travel within the Mid-Atlantic region to connect with campuses, spreading Jewish pride and energy.

Qualifications

  • Must embrace the mission of JGO.
  • 3-5 years of experience in all facets of fundraising.
  • Experience and proven success in top-level fundraising.
  • Possess the skills to work with and motivate donors, board members, and other volunteers.
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
  • Be a self-starter, extremely motivated, and goal-driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Display a positive attitude and passion for the organization, demonstrate self-confidence, common sense, and be a good listener.
