Position Overview
JGO seeks a dynamic professional to serve as the Mid-Atlantic Development and Engagement Coordinator, blending fundraising and community engagement to build vibrant Jewish communities while driving financial support for our mission. This role is based in the Mid-Atlantic with travel to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas.

Development (70%)

Position Overview
JGO seeks a dynamic professional to serve as the Mid-Atlantic Development and Engagement Coordinator, blending fundraising and community engagement to build vibrant Jewish communities while driving financial support for our mission. This role is based in the Mid-Atlantic with travel to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas.
Time Allocation:
- 70% Development: Build relationships with donors and prospects, driving philanthropic support for JGO programs.
- 30% Engagement: Cultivate meaningful connections with students and work to enhance Jewish life on grad campuses in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Development (70%)
- Fundraising Metrics: Develop and maintain relationships with a portfolio of donors and prospects, focusing on identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of high-net-worth individuals.
- Donor Engagement: Conduct donor meetings, utilizing a mix of in-person meetings, Zoom, calls, emails, and texts.
- Proposal Development: Draft compelling funding proposals and strategize with JGO’s leadership team to secure new gifts.
- Solicitation Campaigns: Lead solicitation efforts along with the CEO during JGO’s annual campaign.
- Tracking & Reporting: Maintain donor records and engagement plans in JGO’s database, ensuring up-to-date tracking of donor interactions.
- Regional Travel: Occasionally travel to Baltimore/DC to meet donors or attend national events (flexible based on availability).
- Network Growth: Identify and engage new donor prospects annually, focusing on professionals in finance, entrepreneurship, and other strategic industries.
- Student Interactions: Meet with 2-4 student leaders per week, through Zoom (once a month) and in-person (twice per semester).
- Program Coordination: Assist programming team in organizing impactful monthly programs like themed Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, cultural workshops, and campus speaker series.
- Event Recruitment: Recruit students for JGO events like JELCON, Fellowship, and intercity Shabbat dinners.
- Regional Travel: Travel within the Mid-Atlantic region to connect with campuses, spreading Jewish pride and energy.
- Must embrace the mission of JGO.
- 3-5 years of experience in all facets of fundraising.
- Experience and proven success in top-level fundraising.
- Possess the skills to work with and motivate donors, board members, and other volunteers.
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
- Be a self-starter, extremely motivated, and goal-driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Display a positive attitude and passion for the organization, demonstrate self-confidence, common sense, and be a good listener.
