We are seeking an experienced and collaborative HR Generalist to join our team and play a key role in shaping an exceptional employee experience across the organization. This individual will play a crucial role in the success of CJP's HR operations. It's an opportunity to balance full-cycle recruitment with broad HR generalist ownership, including on-boarding and off-boarding, as well as facilitating the leave and accommodation processes and maintain accurate and quality information in the HRIS (UKG).

The ideal candidate brings strong operational execution, sound judgment, and a continuous improvement mindset, along with experience leveraging and integrating AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, documentation quality, and HR service delivery. This role is well suited for someone who can navigate both day-to-day HR needs and strategic initiatives in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Essential Functions:

Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, and Offboarding

·Lead full-cycle recruitment for assigned openings and internships, partnering with hiring managers to understand role requirements, competencies, and selection criteria

·Manage job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing coordination, and offer processes

·Ensure a consistent, equitable, and positive candidate experience throughout the hiring lifecycle

·Lead and evolve the employee onboarding experience for new staff

·Manage relationships with staffing agencies, LinkedIn Recruiter, and external posting sources to optimize sourcing strategies and vendor effectiveness

·Facilitate the offboarding process including conducting exit interviews

·Track, analyze, and report on talent sourcing and recruitment metrics to inform strategy and continuous improvement

·Monitor recruitment workflows and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Leave, Accommodations & Compliance

·Manage employee leaves of absence (e.g., PFML, FMLA, ADA-related leave) including employee consultations, documentation, tracking, and payroll coordination

·Administer workplace accommodation processes in alignment with ADA and applicable state laws, engaging in the interactive process and maintaining appropriate documentation

·Maintain working knowledge of federal and Massachusetts employment laws related to leave, disability, and workplace accommodations

·Update the employee handbook and conduct an annual review to ensure compliance with evolving federal and state employment laws

·Review policies and practices to support ongoing legal compliance and recommend updates as needed

HR Operations & Employee Experience

·Serve as a backup to self-service online resources for employees and managers regarding policies, benefits, and HR processes

·Facilitate bi-annual core value awards and annual milestone awards

·Conduct 30-day new hire check-ins to support onboarding effectiveness, engagement, and early retention

·Review and approve ongoing HR Actions through the HRIS (UKG)

·Partner with finance on bi-weekly payroll preparation; enter all payroll changes including leave of absence schedules and follow-up on timesheet submission

·Maintain up to date and accurate records in CJP’s HRIS. Serve as back up to our HR Manager for the HRIS

·Maintain updated organizational charts

·Support the project management of HR initiatives and streamline HR processes and systems to improve efficiency and user experience

·Leverage and embed AI-enabled tools and automation to enhance efficiency, strengthen documentation, and streamline HR workflows and service delivery

Requirements

Education:

·Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

·Minimum of 3 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.

·Adept in recruiting, HR compliance, project management, HRIS systems and benefits administration.

Skills/Competencies:

·Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing strategy, stakeholder partnership, candidate experience and execution

·Strong working knowledge of leave of absence administration and workplace accommodation processes, including familiarity with federal and Massachusetts employment laws (e.g., FMLA, PFML, ADA)

·Broad HR generalist capability across employee lifecycle activities, policies, compliance, and HR program implementation

·Sound judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism

·Continuous improvement mindset with strong problem-solving skills

·Collaborative, proactive, and service-oriented approach aligned with a mission-driven environment

·Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

·Ability to build trust and credibility with employees, managers, and cross-functional partners

·Strong consultation and coaching skills, with the ability to translate HR concepts into practical guidance

·Clear written and verbal communication skills with attention to tone, clarity, and audience

·Proficiency using HRIS platforms (e.g., UKG) and related tools to manage data, generate reports, and support HR operations

·Ability to analyze HR data and translate findings into clear insights and recommendations

·Comfort using technology to enhance workflow efficiency and inform decision-making

·Curiosity and adaptability in adopting emerging technologies to enhance HR service delivery and employee experience

Working Conditions:

·Hybrid Work Schedule: CJP staff follow a hybrid work model. On-site work is required on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, while remote work is an option on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays with occasional in-person meetings on those days.

·Physical Requirements: This role involves remaining in a stationary position, often sitting or standing for prolonged periods, primarily working at a computer. Staff need to be able to carry a laptop and bag to and from the office.

Salary

$78,000 – $90,000
