Job Title: Young Family Coordinator

Position Type: Part-Time, 1099, New Hire

Department: Programs

Salary Range: $30,000 - $40,000

Position Summary:

The Young Family Coordinator leads recruitment, retention, and engagement for youth and young family programs, with a focus on PJ Library and PJ Our Way. This role manages program implementation, parent volunteer involvement, PJ database oversight, and grant tracking, while building strong relationships with families and delivering meaningful, community-centered experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Engagement & Outreach

• Recruit and retain participants across youth and young family programs

• Build and maintain relationships with families

• Promote programs through email, social media, and community partnerships

PJ Library & PJ Our Way

• Coordinate PJ Library (ages 0–8) and PJ Our Way (ages 9–12) programs and events

• Grow and maintain enrollment; manage and update participant database

• Track engagement metrics and support grant reporting

• Develop age-appropriate programming that connects families to Jewish life

Parent Volunteer Coordination

• Recruit, onboard, and manage parent volunteers

• Engage families as participants and community ambassadors

Program Implementation

• Support and/or execute:

• Shalom Baby (including welcome bags)

• Bubbie’s STEM Kitchen (2–Pre-K)

• Shalom Chaverim (K–3rd grade)

• Young Jewish Philanthropy (YJP) (4th–6th grade)

• Manage logistics, scheduling, and on-site coordination

• Work with Jewish agencies and synagogues on program partnerships

• Ensure programs are welcoming and aligned with organizational goals

Grants & Administration

• Track participation, attendance, and program outcomes

• Assist with grant reporting and documentation

• Maintain organized records and support overall program operations

Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to engage families and volunteers

• Organized and able to manage multiple programs

• Experience working with children and families preferred

• Experience with databases/CRM systems preferred

• Familiarity with PJ Library or Jewish community programming a plus

Schedule

• Part-time, in-office position with hours based on program schedule; requires frequent weekend availability and some evenings
