The United Jewish Federation of Tidewater is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented professional to serve as our Coordinator of Youth & Family Engagement. This role supports a variety of educational and engagement programs throughout the year, with a strong focus on PJ Library, Jewish Innovation initiatives, and Camp JCC. The ideal candidate is passionate about Jewish life, experienced in working with children and families, and eager to contribute to vibrant community programming.
Key Responsibilities
PJ Library, PJ Our Way, and Shalom Baby
- Manage registrations, subscriptions, and event tracking.
- Attend and summarize PJ Library webinars and trainings.
- Collaborate with Marketing to lead social media and outreach.
- Plan and support family engagement programs.
Jewish Innovation Initiatives
- Assist with coordination and logistics for adult and family Jewish learning programs.
- Provide support for classes, events, and evening programs with the Konikoff Center for Learning.
Camp JCC
- Serve full-time in an administrative role during the summer.
- Help implement seasonal camps (Winter, Spring, School Days Out).
- Support Kids Nights Out events and other youth engagement opportunities.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with other departmental and agency-wide programs as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, Jewish studies, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children and families.
- Previous summer camp experience strongly preferred.
Skills & Attributes
- Passion for Jewish life and community engagement.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and social media.
- Flexible schedule with availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Team player with a collaborative spirit.
