Position Title: Senior Analyst

Department: Impact and Growth

Location: Remote (Hybrid if in NY or DC)

The Jewish Federations of North America (“JFNA”) consists of 146 Jewish Federations and dozens of Network communities which collectively raise and distribute more than $3 billion annually to support flourishing Jewish life and the needs of the Jewish people in their home communities and around the world. The Jewish Federation system, among the top 10 charities on the continent, leads the largest network of volunteer and professional leaders who build and sustain Jewish communities that are healthy, safe, caring, welcoming and inclusive, educated and engaged, involved in the broader community, and deeply connected to Israel and the global Jewish people.

Position Summary:

The Jewish Federation’s Impact and Growth Department uses data, research, and information gathered from the system to develop analyses and generate actionable insights, tools, and services that support the success of Federations. The Senior Analyst is an integral part of the Impact and Growth research team working closely with professionals across the organization and larger Federation system to collect, analyze, and understand Federation data to drive flourishing Jewish communities and Federation excellence. The Senior Analyst works closely with Jewish Federations department team leads and local Federations to collect, analyze, and understand Federation data, exploring paths to help our Federation partners support flourishing communities, improve fundraising, and drive overall excellence. This position is an important participant in shaping how JFNA supports the Federation system, as well as the broader Jewish community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project management of all local community financial data collection including working with JFNA IT to design and implement better “back-end” data collection tools
  • Financial data analysis and visualization--collective and community specific--to identify market trends and best practices
  • Managing Timelines for system-wide surveys
  • Work directly with local community professionals to guide data collection
  • Owning Emergency campaign data collection, management, and analysis
  • Serving as the key Impact & Growth Partner to the JFNA Israel and Overseas and Marketing teams on internal and external data tracking and visualization of emergency funds and grant making as well as other projects
  • Management of all data sources for Impact and Growth Data Pilots
  • Collaboration on Net Promoter Score data collection design, analysis, and visualization
  • Conducting Community Demographics analysis and visualization

The successful candidate will be:

  • Comfortable conducting quantitative analysis and identifying key takeaways.
  • Excellent at problem-solving.
  • Able to tell stories through data, using data visualization tools and Power Point.
  • A project manager, who can successfully organize, track, and drive projects to completion.
  • Curious, with a strong capacity and interest in learning.
  • Highly capable of working on multi-faceted projects.
  • Strong in both written and oral communication.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, mathematics, business, or economics
  • At least two years’ work experience in a field that requires data analysis and strong attention to detail
  • Connection to and interest in advancing Jewish communal life.
  • Analytical skills in collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information with accuracy.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills including the ability to present findings in a polished way.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
