Location: Jewish Federation of New Hampshire Office – Bedford, NH
Salary Range: $100,000 – $110,000 annually
The Jewish Federation of New Hampshire is a statewide organization seeking a dynamic, experienced Jewish professional to serve as Executive Director. JFNH completed a strategic plan in 2024, and we are looking for an experienced leader to continue our successful implementation while fulfilling our mission plan.
This role requires an experienced individual skilled in fundraising, organizational management, relationship building and community engagement. The ideal candidate brings a passion for Jewish life in New Hampshire and Israel, and is eager to be a visible, involved presence across the state.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Development
Fundraising & Development
- Lead all fundraising efforts, including annual campaign, major gifts, planned giving, and donor stewardship.
- Cultivate and expand relationships with individual donors, grantors, and corporate partners.
- Implement strategy to increase number of new donors.
- Personally engage with donors and prospects to secure gifts and support.
- Oversee direct mail, grant writing, and donor recognition programs.
Strategic & Community Leadership
- Lead the implementation of JFNH’s strategic plan.
- Represent JFNH as the public voice of the Jewish community in New Hampshire.
- Respond promptly and effectively to incidents of antisemitism through direct community support, strategic communications, and partnerships with legal, civic, and media allies.
- Build strong partnerships with synagogues, Rabbis, community leaders, media, and government.
Operations & Financial Oversight
- Develop and manage the annual budget; ensure financial transparency and compliance.
- Maintain sound internal controls and reporting systems.
- Supervise and support staff, including hiring, performance management, and professional development.
Programs & Services
- Maintain and enhance existing programs; create new initiatives aligned with JFNH’s mission.
- Manage volunteers, community partners and staff to meet the needs of New Hampshire.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of direct fundraising experience, including securing significant gifts.
- Proven management and leadership experience.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and marketing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Bloomerang a plus.
- Familiarity with legislative advocacy is beneficial.
- Commitment to integrity and building inclusive community relationships.
Location & Travel
This position is based in Bedford, NH and will require frequent visits to Portsmouth NH, and regular travel throughout the entire state to engage with stakeholders, support programs, and represent JFNH. Evening and weekend availability is required. Candidates must live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate.
