POSITION TITLE: Senior Manager, Government Relations Operations

DEPARTMENT: Public Affairs
REPORTS TO: Vice President, Government Relations

ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

The Jewish Federations of North America (“JFNA”) consist of 146 Jewish Federations and dozens of Network communities which collectively raise and distribute more than $3 billion annually to support flourishing Jewish life and the needs of the Jewish people in their home communities and around the world. The Jewish Federation system, among the top 10 charities on the continent, leads the largest network of volunteer and professional leaders who build and sustain Jewish communities that are healthy, safe, caring, welcoming and inclusive, educated and engaged, involved in the broader community, and deeply connected to Israel and the global Jewish people.


POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Manager of Government Relations Operations will play a vital role in Jewish Federations’ government affairs and public policy work by supporting and ensuring seamless operations and coordinating events and engagements. This position will drive organizational priorities forward through logistical coordination and support.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, maintains strict confidentiality, and demonstrates maturity and poise in interactions with leadership, lay leaders, and internal stakeholders.

This role requires attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage logistics, people, and competing priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain government and legislative contact databases and track official correspondence.
  • Draft, edit, and format memos, briefings, and reports for internal and external distribution.
  • Submit and process check requests, vendor invoices, reimbursements, and billing forms; ensure timely payment and accurate financial tracking in coordination with the finance department.
  • Manage and submit lobbying disclosure forms and other federal compliance filings.
  • Assist with coordination and execution of missions to Washington, D.C., including Hill meetings, White House briefings, and agency visits.
  • Support logistics for conferences, fly-ins, and online events.
  • Facilitate internal communications and manage calendars.
  • Track assignments and deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate completion of key deliverables.
  • Provide administrative support, including calendar management, travel arrangements, and preparation of briefing materials.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, prepare agendas, and ensure follow-up on action items.
  • Coordinate and support monthly meetings with lay leadership, ensuring quality planning, materials preparation, scheduling, and follow-through.
  • Serve as a point of contact for key volunteer leaders, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring consistent communication.
  • Other responsibilities as may be required


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in a high-level executive assistant, government affairs, or operations role; experience in a mission-driven or policy-focused organization preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex events, travel, or strategic meetings.
  • Familiarity with federal compliance, lobbying disclosure, and government relations.
  • Excellent writing, editing, verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and project management tools.
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community and key issues of concern to Jewish Federations is desirable.

SALARY RANGE: $65,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience
