Major Gifts Officer - Sarasota, FLLocation of position: 580 McIntosh Rd., Sarasota, FL 34232Please note: This is a full-time, on-site position; non-local candidates would be expected to relocate.Salary and benefits: Base salary range of $85,000 – $105,000. Final salary commensurate with experience. JFSM offers competitive health, wellness, and retirement benefits (4% for each employee regardless of whether they contribute to the 401k, plus an employer match up to 3%. Candidates are asked to submit their material as soon as possible, but not later than August 10, 2026.Reports to: Chief Impact and Engagement OfficerJob Summary: The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the annual fundraising plan... provides both strategic expertise and operational support in all areas of development, including annual, major, and planned giving, grants, and fundraising events... develops strategies to deepen donor relationships and expand the base of support... collaborates with staff, board members, donors, and community partners.Responsibilities include: manage a portfolio of high-value relationships; develop tailored engagement strategies; conduct outreach through meetings, calls, and customized communications; create presentations, proposals, and reports; host engagement opportunities; monitor and report on progress; represent the organization at events; foster partnerships; contribute to event planning; develop donor cultivation and appreciation events; develop fundraising policies and procedures; report on goal metrics.Qualifications include: passion for mission; 3+ years experience in relationship management/VIP sales/account management/client services; exceptional interpersonal skills; success in high-value partnerships; strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; organized and detail-oriented; entrepreneurial mindset; collaborative team player; proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office; proven record of raising major gifts; bachelor’s degree; current on fundraising best practices.Preferred experience: nonprofit/mission-driven background; event planning/strategic partnerships/high-net-worth client management.Communication skills: excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to read/analyze/interpret documents; respond to sensitive inquiries; communicate across levels; escalate appropriately; communicate with contractors and suppliers clearly.Physical Demands/Work Environment: usual office environment; frequent sitting, walking, standing; occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, balancing; frequent use of office machinery; oral/auditory capacity for interpersonal and phone communication.DISCLAIMER: Job descriptions are not meant to be all-inclusive and are subject to change.
