REPORTS TO: Camp, Youth & Family Engagement Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Camp JCC Aftercare Coordinator will work as a team with our aftercare counselors to provide a safe and fun extended day experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinate daily free play activities for campers in aftercare.
Coordinate daily check in/out documentation
Coordinate move aftercare campers to and from J-Rays swim team practice
Provide support to staff for behavior management
Follows Camp JCC policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies
REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience working with children, preferably in a day camp or school setting
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required
Must possess good character, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control
Ability to focus on the specific needs of many campers within the Camp JCC
Must be physically able to work outdoors in different weather conditions, including heat.
Positive, “can do” attitude which is demonstrated by a willingness to pitch in and help wherever needed as well as an ability to anticipate what is needed
WORK SCHEDULE:
Applicant must be available to work Monday through Friday, June 10 through August 9 (8 weeks of camp plus staff week) from 3pm to 6:00 pm
